This is a rigorous IB level course that focuses on multiple local and global environmental issues from both a scientific, and social perspective. Students will study the complex living and natural systems on earth, and discuss the role humans have had, and will have on these systems into the future if current trends remain. Students will be encouraged to acknowledge, and approach their work from differing viewpoints so as to be able to make well rounded, and informed decisions about the environment.
Plant Biology is a course dedicated to the study of the evolution, structure, function, chemistry, ecology, economic, and agricultural significance of plants. Students will gain an appreciation for the impact of plants on society through hands on investigations and inquiry, as well as through independent research. This class will prepare students who wish to pursue an education in the life sciences, and will include many relevant, and practical lessons.
